The Good Parent
Parenting may be the most challenging obstacle in life. Good parenting involves sufficient income, knowledge of different aspects of life, and a nurturing personality. Without these three main criteria a child may grow physically unhealthy and mentally unstable.
Being financially contented means that a parent can consistently provide clothing to keep the child comfortable during all seasons and weather as the child continues to outgrow their current wardrobe. Shelter is just as important. It is the responsibility of the parent to keep a proper atmosphere for the child as well as keeping a roof over them to keep them safe from the environment. Perhaps the most important need for financial stability is the ability to provide sufficient nutrients, (food) for the child to grow physically and mentally. They say all we need is love. Money is quite important as well.
During the early years of a child’s life the parents are the most influential people in a child’s life as they are the people that children look up to the most. It is the job of the parent to instill the basic morals, ethics, and responsibility that will help shape the kind of person that the child will grow into as an adult. Though the child will eventually grow into their own values, it is still the values of the parents that help shape the values of the child. Every day parents are affecting a child by the way the parent lives their life. They are always watching and listening. Without parents to show them how to live responsibly the child may never understand how their work ethic, attitude, and even appearance can positively or negatively affect every situation they may encounter in life. The influence of the parent is arguably the most important factor in a child’s life.
A parent must be loving and supportive. If a child feels neglected emotionally, they will certainly have low self-esteem and feelings of having no worth in this world. Without a sense of worth a child may never grow into a strong independent person capable of sufficiently providing a happy and comfortable life for themselves let alone a family of their own. Without love someone can hardly be expected to provide love and care for children of their own, so the chain continues. In this case emotional stability, and the ability to love the child may very well be the most important attribute of any good parent.
It is almost impossible to say just what is most important for the needs of a child. Is it love and emotional stability? Maybe it’s simply being supportive and positively influencing the child’s ever changing personality. Or, could it be money? Though it is hard to choose what is most important to the successful development of a child, it is clear to see that whatever we perceive to be the most important value they all come from one place, the parents. The recipe for good parenting is very complex. However, one thing that everybody should agree on is that everybody should think about what it takes to be a good parent. The future of the children and the future of this world depend on good parenting.
